Understanding how urban landscapes influence pollinator communities for the better management of native pollinators and increased māra kai

I am an entomologist and conservation biologist, specializing on human modified habitats. My PhD research investigates how urbanization shapes pollinator communities here in Ōtautahi Christchurch and the surrounding area. I am driven by an interest in how urban biodiversity supports both ecological resilience and human wellbeing.

I began my research in Aotearoa through the Wagoner Fellowship, working as a research assistant at Manaaki Whenua, and have since continued into my PhD with the Food Transitions 2050 program, supported by the Brian Mason Scientific and Technical Trust and the Koiata Botanical Trust.
