Agricultural profitability, resilience, and sustainability in an uncertain future: a decision support tool for policy development in NZ

I am a PhD candidate in Agroclimatology and Land Use Modelling at the University of Canterbury. My academic background is in climatology and environmental science, and I hold a Master of Science from Grenoble-Alpes University in France.

My current research investigates the impact of climate change on New Zealand’s agriculture through the concept of land suitability. To strengthen my analytical approach, I collaborated with INRAE’s Agroclim unit in Avignon, France, where I integrated phenological modelling into my research framework.

I am driven by the urgent need to address climate change and environmental degradation. Building on my earlier research into the impacts of climate change on New Zealand’s wine industry, my current work aims to help the agricultural sector and policymakers develop more effective climate change adaptation strategies.

Looking ahead, I plan to expand my research at the intersection of agriculture and climate science, integrating economic and social dimensions to explore transition pathways toward a profitable, resilient, and sustainable agricultural future.
